If you have arrived on our small site, you probably already know the Theatre of Oppressed (TO).
The subtitle of the site is not a publicity stunt...
We are Alfredo Meschi and Graziano Vannucci.
We are two expert trainers using the method of Augusto Boal over 15 years and, thanks to a recent splendid experience in East Africa, we have decided to offer for free our professional work to everyone concerned to disseminate, use, experience the method of TO in the various South of the world.
After many years of practicing TO in Italy and Europe, the idea to restore this powerful method of social change in those contexts, in those communities, in those places where it was born in the 1970s is for us today a dream and a priority.
The TO was born as popular theatre, free of charge. We feel that, in the middle of so many expensive training proposals, is now time to recover the dimension of the gift, of the gratuity.
We do believe that it's the time again to offer anyone the chance to benefit from the use of TO, time to receive high-level training without budget limitations.
We have in the years developed intensive TO training workshops, which enable us to train large groups, even in short time.
We are ready to assist communities that wish to experiment the potential of TO also for long-term projects, to offer advice and consultancy in-itinere, to plan with you the best tailor made project.
From our part we offer you the guarantee of a professional training at zero cost, no matter how long it will take.
We ask of course the coverage of flight tickets and the board and lodging in loco.
Together with us, are part of the team "A free Treeatre" other three friends: Ilaria Farulli, Elena Ranaldo and Sandro Perdighe. Ilaria is a pedagogist, expert in adult and continuing education, blogger and test editor, Elena is a professional photographer, Sandro is a videomaker of great sensitivity and passion for the world of music and sounds.
Working together we can amplify the power of TO and document your projects with an artistic quality of high level. At zero cost.
Publications, books, photographic exhibitions, documentaries, installations and interactive presentations are only some of the possibilities that we can offer as "Free Treeatre" team.
Opportunities that may well be shared with the citizens of the North...
We run our courses and training workshops in italian, english and spanish.
